Job - Full Time Fitness Instructor & Health Club Assistant

Job Title: Apprentice – Full Time Fitness Instructor and Health Club Assistant.

Job Description: 

An opportunity for someone to join us as a Full Time Fitness Instructor (40 hours) or we are condsidering applications from two part time candidates (20 hours).

Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role and relevant qualifications to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Gym Instructing. Further qualifications in terms of teaching classes, life guarding and first aid would be an advantage. 

A full Job Description will be sent to qualified applicants who should be aware that of greatest importance to us is that the Team all gain pleasure from delighting visitors to our Health Club including members (1200), hotel residents and guests on spa days and stays. In this respect, and in addition to responsibilities within the gym and for running classes, the job requires someone with a friendly outgoing personality, a sense of humour and a willingness to become involved in all aspects of our operation including cleaning, guest care, Club Reception and membership sales.

Full Time: The normal working week is 40 hours but there are weeks when Team members are asked to work up to 48 hours; schedules are therefore managed to ensure hours average 40 hours over each 12 week period. Hours are spread over 5 days to provide full 7 day cover throughout opening hours (7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.) and include frequent week-ends and Bank Holidays, although facilities are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years’ Day.

Part Time: To fulfill the above we would anticipate an average of 20 hours over a two week period. (Week 1 16 hours, Week 2 24 hours) dependent on the availability of suitable candidates.

In common with other leading hotels evening and week-end work is frequent as these are when our customers need us the most!

A reliable means of transport to and from Fairlawns is therefore essential as dependent on yout department, working days may start as early as 7:00 a.m. and you evening shifts involve work until as late as 11.00 p.m.

To continue training and development working as part of our 2 AA Rosette award winning team preparing, cooking and presenting fresh food to hotel, restaurant, spa and private dining (banqueting to 100) guests.

This is a great opportunity for an NVQ Level 2 or 3 student to gain great practical experience in one of the area’s finest independent hotels to complement their professional qualifications and to strengthen their cv’s in preparation for a full time career on graduation.  Generally weekends and evenings this could fit around your studies and offer development opportunities.

We are committed to training and development and members of our team may be offered further professional training to include NVQ’s in Professional Cookery and NVQ’s in Leadership along with Food Hygiene and First Aid qualifications.
