We look forward to welcoming you to Fairlawns for a spa stay

Here are a few helpful points to ensure a relaxed visit.

Only guests who are booked on a spa package have use of our spa facilities. So please note this information is for spa stay packages only. If you have a hotel package, such as Stay and Dine, access is to the pool and gym only. We would love to welcome you into the spa so to upgrade please contact spa on 01922 450707.


When you book one of these packages you have the choice of a Spa day on either the day of arrival or the day or departure.

Spa Days start from 09.00 so we will welcome you and help with your luggage according to your needs at the time. Bedrooms are available for check-in from 03.00pm and check-out is 11.00am

Bills should be settled at hotel reception. When you visit the spa reception we will issue you with a locker and ensure you are guided around the spa.


There is a free car park on site, please note this is monitored by a security gate on arrival and departure.

What should I bring?

You will need to bring
• Swimwear
• A refillable water bottle (not glass) to stay hydrated throughout the day.
• Flip flops
• An original or printed copy of any gift vouchers relating to the booking.
• Something to wear for your evening meal – smart/casual.

You may like to bring
• A book or magazine
• Active-wear including footwear for the gyms.
• Extra swimsuit for dry areas and treatments.
• Toiletries and hair styling tools (we provide hair dryers)

We provide for you during the day
• One towelling robe is included (additional robe hire £5.00)
• Two towels – One for your day and an additional towel to shower at the end of the day (additional towel hire £1.50)
• Toiletries in your room and the changing facilities (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel)

Please note we recommend leaving jewellery and valuables at home as you may need to remove them for some treatments and facilities and we cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred.

What should I wear for treatments?

Wear something comfortable, so when you dress at the end of the day you will feel relaxed.

During treatments, therapists are trained to respect client’s modesty at all times, and a sarong will be provided in the treatment for you to be covered.
For most treatments wearing your swimwear and robe will be ideal, please do bring a dry swimsuit for comfort or request disposable underwear if your swimsuit is wet.

Special requirements for some treatments:

Pedicures – bring or wear flip flops.

All nail appointments – please note we do not remove gel polish or acrylics, where applicable nails need to be clear of these. We normally put these towards the end of the day and for these we suggest changing into your clothes before the treatment as nail polish can take up to one hour to dry fully.

What facilities are included?

Only guests booking a spa stay or day have full use of the spa facilities. Included in your day is also selections from our grazing bar and a number of relaxation facilities. Please click here for the health club facilities.

What food and drink are included?

Overnight Dining and Breakfast

A £30 allowance is included in your overnight stay for you to spend on an indulgent dinner in restaurant 178.
Breakfast can be enjoyed delivered to your room (let us do all the work) or in Restaurant 178 depending on what suits you best.

Spa Day - from 9am - 5pm

Morning refreshments - Cereal, Pastries, Fruit, Yoghurt

Lunch – A buffet style lunch including roast meats (served cold, turkey & ham), salad selection, roast new potatoes and freshly baked bread.

Afternoon refreshments – Fruit, Fairlawns chocolate brownies and seasonal cake.

Drinks in the Spa Lounge Only: Teas, coffees, herbal tea, seasonal iced waters. Additional drinks such as juices and alcoholic beverages* can be purchased during your stay.

We request dietary requirements on booking, if you have not mentioned any special requirements or allergies please contact us in advance.

* Please note we recommend limiting alcohol intake to one glass whilst using the spa facilities –as you need to drink responsibly when using the heat facilities and it is your responsibility to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated.

What time are my treatments?

Treatments commence from 3pm – 6pm Day 1 or from 10am until 5pm Day 2 and will be confirmed on arrival. We strongly recommend booking treatments in advance.

Are there any age restrictions?

Please note there is a minimum age of 16 for all spa services.


We understand that there can be on occasions the need to cancel and operate the following policy in fairness to both our customers and ourselves.
We require 14 days’ notice, subject to which guests will be offered the opportunity to rearrange their day or receive a refund less an administration fee (£15).

In the event of a cancellation within 14 days Spa Days or Stays are non-refundable.

Please note that any point we as a business reserve the right to amend or cancel a reservation due to unforeseen circumstances.


Certain medical conditions may preclude you from having some of the treatments and all treatments are carried out subject to completion of a medical questionnaire. Guests with heart conditions, high/low blood pressure, circulatory disorders, epilepsy, arthritis/rheumatism, diabetes, pregnancy, allergies, recent surgery, cancer (within the last 5 years) should consult their doctor prior to booking and undertake all heat experiences or spa treatments at their own risk. If you have and concerns please notify us in advance.

Treatments- 10am -8pm (Mon – Fri), 10am-7pm (Saturday), 10am -6pm (Sunday & Bank Holidays)

Christmas - Please note we close Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Covid -19 what to expect from a visit

We can assure you all measures are in place to offer a safe environment to both you and our team.

• Fairlawns Hotel & Spa Covid risk assessment in place audited by an external health and safety body following guidelines throughout the hotel, restaurant and spa.

• All the team have completed

o Flow training covering Covid 19: Staying Safe, Cleaning and Hygiene
o The spa team have completed Barbicide Covid-19 Qualification in infection control.
o A daily health declaration and temperature check on arrival

• Fairlawns team will be wearing PPE including gloves, mask and/or visor and disposable apron to perform your treatment. This is for your safety and that of your therapist.

• Protective screen are in place at reception deception desks.

• Enhanced cleaning regimes throughout the spa and in treatment rooms between appointments, sanitiser available at entry and desk points, laundry programmes meet thermal disinfection standards.

• Additional items such as blankets and magazines are unavailable in communal areas, magazines can be accessed on your own mobile devices at fairlawns.media

Your visit

We are staggering arrival times, you will be notified before your visit.

Please follow social distancing guidelines at the spa, your therapist will talk you through the procedures for your treatment as these will vary.

On arrival you will be required to sign a health declaration confirming you have had no symptoms of Covid 19 within the last 14 days have your temperature checked.

On entry to the spa we will ask you to use gel sanitiser, when arriving and leaving the treatment room you will be asked to wash your hands if appropriate.

As always we use fresh couch coverings and rooms are thoroughly sanitised between each treatment.

We ask that you wear a mask during most of our treatments, you may be more comfortable wearing your own should you not have a mask we can supply one for you.

Ideally please do not bring any excess belongings such as coats into the spa with you. Lockers are provided for your spa day with wipes for you to sanitise these before and after use.

If you or anyone in your home presents with any covid-19 symptoms within 14 days of your booking please follow UK government guidelines and inform us as soon as possible.

Whilst the above procedures will be in place full information will be updated early September and all bookings provided with the latest information.

We assure you all up to date guidelines will be followed - however currently please note changes will apply to food service (buffet to be served to you or individual breakfast/lunch and afternoon selections ordered), some facilities such as saunas and steam rooms may be limited, some treatment services may be limited.
