Afternoon tea
Join us in Restaurant 178 and tuck into our British inspired afternoon tea, including seasonal savouries, homemade sweet delights and fresh warm scones. All served with your choice of tea or coffee (or add some sparkle from our Bar menu).
Our Spring Menu is now live - think bright colours, gorgeous flavour combinations, the right amount of savoury and all homemade!
£31.5 per adult - a £10 deposit per person is required to secure your table - please note any dietary requirements in booking comments (we cannot make any menu amendments on the day)
Lunch
Chef prepares fresh, seasonal dishes for our lunch menu, with fabulous specials served alongside relaxed classics - the best of both worlds. The best way to spend a 'working lunch' with colleagues, a catch up with friends or a treat for mum or dad's special birthday coupled with our famous hospitality.
Due to popular demand you can now indulge at lunchtime with our Fish & Fizz - just £40 for 2 including a glass of fizz per person - until 30th August 2025!

Sundays at Fairlawns are something special. Our famous Sunday roasts pair the finest cuts of meat with giant Yorkshires, roasted roots, and side dishes - all rounded off with delicious desserts or locally sourced cheeses and chutneys - the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

The OakRoom
With room to seat between (minimum) 10 and (maximum) 16 guests, our private Oak Room is the ideal choice for birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, and intimate celebrations.
The luxury of Restaurant 178's menus in your own private setting - from our indulgent afternoon tea, to elevated and modern British dinners or a hearty, family-style Sunday Lunch - we just ask a £75 room hire.

Dietary requirements
Our separate vegan and vegetarian menus change regularly, and all dishes which can be adapted for gluten-free diets are highlighted on our menus. All our food is prepared from scratch, so if there are any allergies, dietary requirements or special requests - please just ask. We have looked in detail at our kitchen procedures and although we take taken steps to control the unintended presence of allergenic ingredients in our food, we cannot fully guarantee it.

Whether you're popping in for a quick bite or spending an entire evening wining and dining, we want you to be comfortable. Jeans are permitted, but we ask that you refrain from wearing shorts, robes, slippers, workwear, sportswear or trainers in Restaurant 178.
