FROM THE HOTEL

  • Are the tables and decorations included?

    We are happy to provide all the cutlery, crockery, glassware, tablecloths and napkins required for us to serve your wedding meal. The hotel will provide a gold or silver easel for your table plan to be positioned on along with a traditional silver cake stand and knife.

    We ask that you provide your own wedding stationery, decorations and a card box.

  • Does the hotel provide highchairs?

    Absolutely, we have plenty available for your younger guests free of charge.

    The highchairs themselves do not have a tray but can be pushed flush with our tables.

  • Will there be someone running my wedding on the day?

    You will have a dedicated Wedding Host who will guide you through everything on your special day - they will be there from morning set up until your evening buffet goes out.

    They will do all your announcements and ensure you will have the most memorable day.

     

  • Can we have some music played during our meal?

    Absolutely, we will play some light background music during your wedding breakfast. If you would prefer to have your own playlist – then please provide a device that has a 3.5mm audio jack port (and your music selection on) that we can then connect to our in-built sound system.

    You can of course source a singer or musician to play through your reception drinks or meal instead - a great way to make the most of your afternoon.

  • Can the hotel provide a microphone?

    We are happy to provide a wireless microphone and speakers for your toasts/speeches.

  • Do you have a list of approved or recommended suppliers and are there any limitations on who we can use?

    We are happy for you to use any company/supplier you wish and upon request, we are happy to provide you with recommendations for a Venue Dresser, Photographer and Cake Maker.

    For your evening DJ we do ask you use our own supplier - Midlands Pro.

  • Do you offer corkage on drinks?

    Sadly, we do not offer this at Fairlawns. All beverages including still and sparkling wines, spirits and soft drinks must be provided by the hotel.

  • Can we provide our own catering?

    All food and drinks must be provided by the hotel. We would though be happy for you to supply a sweet cart, doughnut wall or similar option for your wedding.

  • Do we require wedding insurance?

    The hotel does not offer any type of wedding insurance. This is too be arranged by yourselves at your own discretion.

  • How can my guests book bedrooms and do we get a discount on them?

    We are happy to offer a 10% discount off our best flexible bedroom rates for any guests attending an event at the hotel - a small deposit is required upon booking to secure your reservation.

  • What do you set-up for us?

    The hotel does not provide any wedding stationary (name cards, table plan etc.) or table decorations so we ask that you provide these for your special day.
    We are happy to put out a few simple touches for you on the morning of your wedding (such as simple table centrepieces, name cards, favours, menus, lanterns, petals and confetti baskets).

    Most couples however, choose to book their own venue dresser who can do this for you and also arrange chair sashes and more elaborate venue decor.

    We kindly ask that your items are dropped to the hotel anytime from 12noon on the day prior to your wedding at Fairlawns.

  • Can we leave anything at the hotel after our event?

    After your wedding, the hotel will store everything safely for you overnight, so that it can all be removed from the property by 11.30am the next morning.

    We recommend anything of value e.g. jewellery, cards, personal belongings etc... should be stored in your bedroom for maximum security and peace of mind.

    We kindly ask that any venue suppliers also collect their items by no later than 10am the day after your wedding.

  • Do you have anywhere we can get ready?

    We have 2 Dressing Rooms that can accommodate up to 4 guests in one room, or up to a maximum of 6 guests over 2 adjoining rooms.

    The cost for which is dependent upon the amount of guests and if you wish to book this on a room only or bed and breakfast basis.

  • What about parking?

    We have 3 onsite carparks at the hotel, all secure and free of charge for your guests.

    Our entrance is operated by a barrier system, so if anyone wishes to leave their car overnight that is fine.

FOR YOU

  • Can we provide candles?

    Yes ,we are happy for you to provide real candles providing that they are encased/protected, i.e. a tealight in a holder or candle in a lantern is perfect.

    Sadly, as per the rules & regs of the registry office, no candles can be lit during your ceremony.

  • Can we provide alcoholic favours?

    Sadly, we do not allow any alcoholic favours for events taking place at the hotel.

  • Can we provide confetti?

    Providing your confetti is biodegradable, you are most welcome to use this outside in our wedding garden.

    If you are having a civil ceremony at the hotel and would like to put petals down your ceremony aisle, then we ask that these petals are artificial.

    We discourage the use of confetti cannons both indoors and outdoors.

     

  • Can we supply a band/wedding singer?

    Yes, we are happy for you to have a band on the evening – which can play until 10:30pm at the very latest.

    This then allows our Resident DJ plenty of time to get everyone up dancing and play you through until midnight. You would also be most welcome to have a wedding singer or musician to play you into your ceremony or afterwards whilst you are having your photographs taken.

FOR SUPPLIERS

  • When can we drop off our cake?

    Your cake can only be dropped off the morning of your wedding as we are unable to offer a designated storage/cold room area.

    Suppliers can arrive with us from 7am onwards so plenty of time of them to set-up before your arrival.

  • When can our florist deliver our flowers?

    Only on the morning of your wedding.

    Sadly, we do not have a large cold space available for flowers to be delivered or dropped off prior to this.

  • A note for external Entertainers:

    Should an external entertainer require a storage room, rest room, ‘green room’ or changing area then sadly, we are unable to facilitate this.

    If pre-booked and pre-arranged well in advance, a bedroom may be booked at an additional charge.
