Restaurant 178

Locally sourced, seasonal menus

Restaurant 178

Whether you’re looking for a quick bite to eat after using the spa, or want to wine and dine someone special, dining at Restaurant 178 is not to be missed. Our Head Chef uses fresh local ingredients to create regularly updated seasonal menus, and uses English recipes influenced by flavours from around the world. We must warn you though, Chef loves to experiment, so be prepared for something really special.

Respect to ingredients and appreciating the impact food production has on the environment are also factors that influence our menu style. We try and source sustainable and local produce where possible and often prepare dishes in a way that keeps the integrity of ingredients in tact.

Vegetarian, Vegan and special diets are catered for and we always try and remember that we are here to cook for you (not ourselves) - so if you would like something preparing specially; please just ask.

Lunch and Supper Club

We spend as much time planning our lunch menu as we do our dinner menu, so drop in for a light bite to eat or mark a special occasion and enjoy our fresh, seasonal dishes. Following the success of Eat Out Help Out we are running our discounted Lunch and Supper Club menu until late November. This is made up of chefs carefully prepared seasonal produce, everyday classics (sometimes you just fancy a scotch egg) along with some indulgent options. The menu is priced at a discounted £20 for 2 courses and £23 for 3 courses.

Lunch is served Wed-Saturday 12.30-16.00 and Supper is served Monday - Saturday 18.00-1900

Sunday lunch

Is there anything better than a traditional Sunday roast? We go all out for Sunday lunch at Restaurant 178 with a different menu every month. Always featuring the classic roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, we also mix up the menu with more innovative dishes for those feeling adventurous. Items are individually charged, so we can match the seasons with market produce and our Sunday lunch is always popular so make sure you book a table. We look forward to welcoming you.

At Restaurant 178 , we love to experiment so you can expect traditional British dishes - locally sourced steaks, fresh fish, our famous chocolate brownies - with a twist. Our Market Menu changes with the seasons, so there is always something new to try including imaginative vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. You are in for a treat with our wine list too, including a special selection of French wines.

Items are individually priced. Residents with dinner included have an allowance towards the Market menu to treat themselves during their stay.
