Should your booking terms be different to those stated below, please see your confirmation details which will explain the cancellation policy.

If you require a refund, please contact the relevant department to request. These vary depending on the department and please note all booking refunds incur an administration charge to cover costs already incurred to the business.

  • Bedroom reservations

    Reservations made via our website are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation less than 24 hours prior to arrival or non-arrival.

    Advance purchase reservations are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

    Packages require full prepayment in advance - via a valid debit or credit card via secure payment link.

    The same card will need to be used on arrival to validate the booking and verify it by pin.  This card will be required to open a guest account and any extras must be settled on departure.

  • Short breaks, special packages, Stay and Dine

    Given four weeks' notice, we are happy to offer a refund minus a £15.00 administration fee or the opportunity to make one date change for your booking free of charge. Up to 14 days prior to your booking, we offer the opportunity to change the date of your booking incurring a £15.00 administration fee. In the event of a cancellation within 14 days, promotional breaks are non-refundable.

  • Restaurant meals, incidental charges, vouchers

    All payments made for the above services are non-refundable.

  • Special events (weddings, private parties, Christmas)

    All deposits and pre-payments are non-refundable subject to the contractual terms and conditions agreed and confirmed when you made your reservation.

  • Special party rates accommodation

    Pre-payments are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation less than 24 hours prior to arrival or non-arrival. Cancellations prior to 24 hours will incur an administration fee to cover costs already incurred to Fairlawns.

  • Spa days and spa stays

    Given four weeks' notice, we are happy to offer a refund minus a £15.00 administration fee or the opportunity to make one date change for your booking free of charge. Up to 14 days prior to your booking, we offer the opportunity to change the date of your booking incurring a £15.00 administration fee. In the event of a cancellation within 14 days, spa days and stays are non-refundable.

  • Spa treatments

    Cancellations within 48 hours of your visit are charged at full price.  Cancellations prior to 48 hours will incur a small administration fee to cover costs already incurred to Fairlawns.

  • Non-arrivals

    No refunds of advance payments will be made in the event of any non-arrivals.

  • Pets

    We do not allow pets, of any kind, to stay in our bedrooms or enter our dining, bar, or banqueting facilities. As you would expect, the only exceptions to this rule, surround service dogs who are permitted with prior discussion so an appropriate room allocation can be made.

  • Damage and charges

    We are a family-run business that takes a fair and transparent approach towards the way in which we deal with our customers. Whilst the company understands fair ‘wear and tear’ and takes a benevolent approach to accidental damage caused by our guests (we all make mistakes), we reserve the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details and/or to charge you a fair rate for damage caused to our property and your allocated room(s). This damage relates to you, your guests, or your pets.

    Fairlawns Hotel Ltd in its discretion will use charges and payments to compensate and make good the loss, damage, costs or expenses incurred or suffered as a result of any damage. We thank you for your acceptance, understanding and respect.

  • Covid -19

    As you would expect, we have a number of measures in place relating to Covid-19 regulations. Please trust we will play our part and we ask that you do too. All guests are required to follow the latest government laws and respect fellow guests and our team.

  • TELEPHONES

    Please note all calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

  • SERVICE CHARGE

    Please note for Restaurant and Bar 178 a 10% discretionary service charge is added onto your bill. This is given entirely to our food and bar, kitchen and porter team. We allocate it according to how many hours everyone works and what their role is. Fairlawns as a company do not deduct any part of the tip - ever. If you would like to opt-out then that is fine too, please just let us know.
